Your phone is farther away than a cinema.

How big type looks on screen is an angle — the cap height as a fraction of the picture, divided by how far away the picture is measured in picture heights. Both halves are ratios, so the display's physical size and the master's resolution cancel out of it entirely.

The engine is free and needs no account. Measured that way, a phone at arm's length is 7.9 picture heights away and the back row of a cinema is 3.3. The phone is more than twice as far from the eye, and it is where most of the audience is. A laptop and a cinema screen — thirty times apart in size — are within 3% of each other, and are the same screen as far as type is concerned. And a cap height in pixels is not a size: 43 px is 4% of a 1080‑line master and 2% of a 2160‑line one, which on that phone is 17.4′ then 8.7′ — readable, then not, with nothing edited in between and nothing flagged. Title-safe will not catch it either: that is 90% of the picture on every screen ever made, which is exactly the kind of quantity an angle is not. Every lane ships a worked example that costs nothing. Writing the report needs credits.
